Crevision WordPress Theme is a fully responsive WordPress theme with lots of great features like 5 preset colour styles, dark/white styles, wide/boxed styles, 25+ custom shortcodes, 10+ custom widgets, 5 homepage layouts, 3 portfolio layouts, 3 blog layouts, and many more. I like its minimalist and yet stylish design. A little modification here and there might make it work even better.
If you don’t have a logo, and just want to use the theme font to make a simple text logo, visit Cufonfonts and download Titillium Text Font. If you don’t have any image manipulation program, download Gimp, open a new file, type in your logo text, open the layers window, delete the background, and save the file format as .png. Now you have a transparent text logo image.
Crevision has made it easy for people to add their own style codes. In Jozoor panel, Styles Options, you can add your custom CSS there. The default setting is a bit weird. Once you activate the theme, you will notice that the paragraphs of your post/page are gone, missing, all paragraphs become a big chunk of text. You can edit your old post and hit enter twice to make a paragraph, but that isn’t very effective especially if you already have many old posts. To fix this, add the following in custom CSS:
.post-content p {
margin-bottom: 15px;
}
Now you fixed the blog posts, you might want to do the same for the pages:
.page-columns p {
margin-bottom: 15px;
}
In the blog posts, the link colour is almost identical to the text colour. Somehow I want my links to stand out from the text. I’m using the blue colour style (#00aec8), so I add another line in custom CSS:
.post-content p a {
color: #00aec8;
}
For other colour styles, replace #00aec8 with the appropriate colour code, red #e64141, purple #81519c, orange #ee7e2a, green #53b808.
06-10-14 If you upgrade to WordPress 3.9.1, and you get lots of the following error:
“Warning: simplexml_load_string() [function.simplexml-load-string]: Entity: line 55: parser error : AttValue: ” or ’ expected in …/your-folder-path/wp-content/themes/Crevision/inc/update_notifier.php on line 154”
Edit functions.php, remove or comment out line 4:
include (get_template_directory() . ‘/inc/update_notifier.php’); // theme notifier
I emailed the author, no reply. After some time, I checked the theme support forum, well, you have to register and provide your purchase code, then I found the above instruction. I wonder why the auther didn’t just update the file in ThemeForest.
